I never even thought about applying to Ohio university. But they sent me like an advantage application, an application where no essay was required and no application fee was charged. So I just applied because it was quick and painless. I originally thought I was going to end up at Malone University (small Christian school that Is 7 miles from me) majoring in zoo & wildlife Bio. Then Malone got rid of the man (many people think for no good reason) who shaped the major for the past 10 years. Now he has a job and another university. I was like, crap. The only other school in Ohio with the same major is Ohio University. I really did not want to go to a party school, let alone live away from home. I scheduled a campus visit the last day of March. The campus visit was awesome. There is a Chipotle like 4 Blocks from the campus, and they were playing Jason Aldean on the Speakers in the stadium. (Not basing my college choice over music and food) the campus had stunning Beauty. I was walking through up/down town (I can’t remember which one) and then out of nowhere "bring revival to OU" popped in my head (after prayer and confirmation I believe it was God). Next day at home, I was looking at churches to get involved with that were consistent with the Bible and preached the real Jesus and not their own version. I emailed Brookfield Church, planted July 2011, to see what they were all about. I asked the dude who runs Canton House of Prayer to verify it and he said the Church looked okay based off of their website. I emailed them and was like 'going to OU, want to find a good church, are there believers on campus, etc.' the man that replied back referenced to Joel 2, which has been on my heart for a while. then I told him about the "bring revival to OU" thought, he said when he read that to his wife, she was in tears, he said they have been praying for that ever since they first planted their church. The pastor man said that if it were true, my Christian friends/leader would back me up and support me going to OU and that the practical things would be no problem. He was right! And an old youth leader of mine said his life was amazingly impacted when he went on the spring retreat with OU's Campus crusade for Christ. So i thought that was awesome. After a lot of prayer and confirmation, and dreams. I am now a soon to be bobcat!
I went to orientation the end of July and first of August. Looking at the dormitory I would be living in, it reminded me of a recent mission trip I went on. And to looking up at all the beauty in creation that is in Athens Ohio, I feel like I connected with God.
